What is Encounter Youth?
Encounter Youth is the official youth group for students and staff at Good Samaritan Catholic College. Catholic Life and Social Justice have always been an important part of the College but the idea of uniting all outreach and faith initiatives under a single umbrella was born out of the experiences of ACYF 2019 in Perth. Through the experiences of ACYF the idea of a Good Samaritan Youth Group emerged with the hope of keeping the Holy Spirit alive within the school community. On Thursday 11th June, the first Youth Encounter afternoon was held in what will hopefully be the start of many more to come!
When do we meet?

The group has regular faith formation afternoons every second Thursday from 3pm until 4pm. It also meets at other times of the year to organise or facilitate the various initiatives including Tuesday mornings for Christ Chat, Wednesday lunch for Adoration, and Thursday and Friday mornings for Woolpack. Other initiatives are due to launch later in 2020.
How do I join the group?
At the moment students and staff are encouraged to listen to morning announcements and their emails for information about current events and initiatives. Eventually students will be encouraged to join us for our afternoon sessions. If you are keen to join you can also contact Mr Bradbury or Mr Chircop, any one of our Catholic Life leaders, or your RE teacher.
